Sonntag, 25.April

Danke an Anke Raum.

Sonntag, 7.März

Heute mal wieder auf englisch – die Einladung zum neuen Klassik-Klub:
Dear friendsI´d like to invite you to my new #KlassikKlub today on #WDR3 radio.
The show will be opened by Arvo Pärt‘s “Fratres” in the version for solo violin (Daniel Hope) and strings with percussion (with joy I remember the recording session where I had the pleasure to play the percussion part).
You will listen to songs by Alexander von Zemlinsky and Alban Berg, sung by the magnificent  Sandrine Piau(taken from her extraordinarily beautiful new album that comes out in these days on Alpha Classics). “A Beautiful Kiss“ by Louis Andriessen, works by Aleksey Igusdesman, Nils Frahm, John Eccles (feat. the soprano Eugénie Lefebvre), Tarquinio Merula (sung by soprano Pia Davila), Petter Udland Johansen (singing his own song) & more.
A special focus will be on some fascinating young female artists – Marie Awadis, and Chiara Dubey, both performing their own music; then Dorothea Mader (who wrote a piece for the phenomenal violin duo The Twiolins). The show will end with Anna Vinnitskaya playing Chopin’s Ballade No 4.
Have a good cup of tea  (or coffee) again and – Enjoy!

Sonntag, 19.Juli

Und auch heute wieder:
“La Noche De Los Mayas” – “The night of the Maya“ is the title of a magnificent symphonic suite
by Mexican composer Silvestre Revueltas.

Dear friends,

I would like to invite you to my new #KlassikKlub, this Sunday afternoon on WDR3 radio.

It’s summer and I choose some Latin American music that intends to make you dance!
Besides the line of the imaginary Maya rhythms there will be several Mambos, Rhumbas and Bossas by Brazilian, Cuban and also two North American composers.
I will feature a Cuban adventure of Berlin Philharmonics’ famous French Horn player Sarah Willis that resulted in an extraordinary release that came out in these days on the Belgian label Alpha Classics.
I also want to give a spot on the wonderful, extraordinary music of the great Antônio Carlos Jobim, the father and pope of Bossa Nova. You might not know these symphonic coloured compositions that I will make you listen here.
Then I want to mention the marvellous Anne Sofie von Otter – I really love her voice and all those special musical settings where she brings it in.
We will listen to famous works by Heitor Villa Lobos and Leonard Bernstein – conducted by the composers themselves. Finally Just Another Rhumba (performed by the queen Ella Fitzgerald) and the Cuban Ouverture by
George Gershwin
Take your shoes off – and dance!
